WHO IS TOM WYATT?
From the Appalachian Mountains of Allegany County, Maryland, Wyatt grew up on the sad, solemn, ole sounds of Hank Williams and Kris Kristofferson. As childhood slowly faded, he grew increasingly infatuated with folk music and the written word. Tom found a deep connection with writing after being exposed to the stories and characters of Jack Kerouac, John Steinbeck, and Hermann Hesse. He found kinship in the melodies and tales of Guy Clark, Townes Van Zandt, and the many songwriters nestled within the mountains of Maryland, Pennsylvania and West Virginia. Soon Wyatt began bouncing around the east coast, searching for musical knowledge within the bluegrass pickers, folkies, and buskers he came across from town to town. Adopting what Jerry Jeff Walker coined the "Driftin' Way of Life.", Wyatt scrambled from Nashville, to Baltimore, the the Carolinas, to the Hudson River Valley, and across the Midwest. He reflected on what he'd witnessed and had been picking up along the way. He released his debut EP Lonesome Letters to the Land I'd Loved in the fall of 2017.
Now residing in Boston, MA he is writing for an upcoming full length while performing in the folk clubs that have graced the city for much of the last century.
